Your storeitoffsite.com Email/Collaborate services can be connected with the address “email.storeitoffsite.com”. Below are some examples of how to configure and access your Zimbra Messaging System from your Windows or Mac desktop, iPhone or Android phone and tablet devices. While we will be configuring your email in Microsoft Outlook, the web interface is always accessible to you via desktop, mobile or tablet.

Some important items to note are the server, username, password, port and security sessions.

Server: email.storeitoffsite.com

Username: <name>@<domain.com>

Password: <password provided to SIO>

Using a web browser on desktops or mobile like Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, or the NEW Microsoft Edge is simple. Just input the server address as:

https://email.storeitoffsite.com

So what has changed in the new services in v8?

Upgraded Desktop Interface

The desktop GUI (graphic user interface) is more robust and functional. Features like drag-n-drop have been enhanced for earlier attachment of files, and integration with Firefox and Chrome make notifications very useful.

Zimbra GUI Offline Mode

Zimbra Offline Mode allows you to use the Zimbra Web Client (ZWC) and access your data without network connectivity. For example, if there is no server connectivity or server connectivity is lost, ZWC automatically transitions to “offline mode”. When server connectivity is restored, ZWC automatically reverts back to “online mode”. The offline mode uses HTML5, which uses a caching capability that can be considered a super set of the normal browser caching.

Simplified URL Configuration on iOS Devices

When configuring your email on a mobile device, using the device's mail client (ap), always setup as “Exchange” (on iPhone and some Androids) or “Corporate Email” (on Android devices). This is the simplest way to setup, and ensures that your mail, contacts, and calendars are synced. On older devices, you can also setup as Secure POP or IMAP. Contact SIO for those details on POP and IMAP.

iPhone Mail Interface

Enter your email address, password, and server (email.storeitoffsite.com)

Once the device verifies the settings, you will see a configuration screen verifying what data you wish to sync.

iPhone Mail Exchange Sync Selection

While Apple’s Exchange configuration will show you email, contacts, calendars, and tasks, it will not show you Shared resources. This is a limitation of the device, and not Zimbra. However, there is a way to view shared calendars.

When configuring shared calendars on a mobile device, choose “Other” and then “Add CalDAV Account” (on iPhone and some Androids). Input the server address as “email.storeitoffsite.com”, along with your email address and password.

**NOTE** Before trying to sync Shared Calendars, log into the Web GUI and go to the Preferences - Calendar tab, scroll to the bottom, and turn off iCal Delegation. (you can turn it back on once you finish your iPhone setup.
